Description

This position is responsible to create, develop and manage (with the assistance of content resources), a large portfolio of micro-learning modules to sufficiently support the goals of the company.

The primary goal is to rapidly, efficiently, and consistently train and develop team members to an industry-leading level of repeatable proficiency, quality, and safety exceeding our competitors while also supporting planned growth and market share expansion.  The training modules will be primarily for internal use only; though a very small number may also be made available to our customers.  Training to be delivered via the web and be accessible using desktops, tablets or phones.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of learning modules identified by Operations and internal support interests; and develop learning modules in an order consistent with operational priorities.
  • Meet with content resources regularly to identify learning objectives, and with the assistance of those resources, design instructional module utilizing media necessary to simply and effectively achieve those learning objectives (images, text, audio, graphics or video).
  • Develop and manage LMS platform (Moodle or similar) to deliver and manage training.
  • Manage video production (shoot and edit) using company-owned, commercial-grade equipment, either self-performed or operated by other internal or contracted resources.
  • Develop and manage training plan and corresponding budget under a projected 3-5 year plan.
  • Assist in sourcing other specialized training delivered by third parties; as needed by Operations, in addition to internal training.
  • Manage recordings, archiving and availability of company Communications Meetings and other company meetings as may be required.
  • On occasion, support Marketing/Business Development and/or Operations with images and/or video recording of jobs, projects or tasks.
  • Emphasis will be on the rapid development of simple and effective modules.
  • Must be able to collaboratively guide and manage teams or small groups of people representing different interests to efficiently produce quality and effective modules.
  • Manage both internal and external resources. Internal resources will consist of shared personnel while external resources could consist of independent contractors or subcontracted personnel or services.
Experience
  • Instructional Design knowledge and/or experience (0-3 years min.), particularly in areas of micro-learning, adult education, and technical/vocational trades training.
  • Experience creating video scripts and storyboards.
  • Ability to shoot and edit for video production is a plus.
  • Prior experience managing an LMS (Learning Management System) such as Moodle or similar.
  • Past experience in creating and managing training modules and/or training programs.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to write at a high level with respect to spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Must be creative, open, independently motivated, able to respond to deadlines, have a collaborative nature, work well with others and possess a strong work ethic.
