Position title
Machine Mover (Rigger)
Description
Move or rig large machinery & equipment using specialized rigging equipment and techniques. Perform millwright and mechanical tasks required to install, assemble, disassemble or relocate machinery and equipment. Possess Class-A CDL and drive tractor/trailer combinations.
Responsibilities
- Move large, heavy objects into position, or control movements of machinery or equipment through narrow openings, confined or elevated spaces, or along routes that present technical or logistical challenges.
- Ability to select proper rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, tools, equipment, and devices based on calculations of weights, tensions and loads, and center-of-gravity estimates.
- Knowledge and proper application of rigging tools, equipment, and devices on the job site.
- Properly and safely secure loads in transit.
- Drive legal and specialized loads (OW/OD) using flats, drops, tilt-beds, and other specialized trailers.
- Visually signal or verbally direct others engaged in hoisting or moving loads for safe movement.
- Perform or assist in match-marking, dismantling, erecting, assembling or relocating machinery and equipment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic gantries, sliding systems, and jack-and-crib operations a plus.
- Ensure compliance with safe rigging practices at every step of the process.
- Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain a positive environment and relationships.
- Ability to physically perform the work.
- Hand tools corresponding with the position.
Experience
- 0-3 Years of Rigging and/or Machinery Moving experience
- CDL Class-A License (Preferred)

- High School diploma
